abstract
The Flocanique dress deploys old fashion flip-dot hardware known form huge displays before the age of LED screens. The boards to switch every single flip-dot as well as the mobile power supply and the software to control the dress via bluetooth needed to be designed individually. Additionally a variety of animation patterns were explored.
learnings
In this particular project Intermedia-, Communication-, Jewellery- and Fashion Designers worked together with a Sensor Engineer and a Computer Scientist. Beside the challenge of exploring unknown frontiers of design the students learned how to manage a multidisciplinary team.
